The Champion Quick-Lock threaded connector is how an aluminum compressed air system meets everything that is still threaded: the compressor discharge, the receiver, the dryer outlet, a filter head, an existing black iron main, or a machine inlet. One end grips Quick-Lock tube with the lock-and-seal push fitting; the other is a standard NPT thread.
Bodies and nuts are nickel-plated brass. Nothing in the joint rusts, nothing in the joint needs dope or tape on the tube side, and the connection comes apart again when the layout changes.
Choose your tube size and thread from the dropdown above.
Model Selection Chart
Male connectors thread into a female port. Female connectors accept a male thread. Champion catalogs male connectors in every tube size from 14mm to 63mm and female connectors in five of them.

| XCQL-FC-50-32 | 50mm | 2 in | 2 in Female NPT |
Note that several tube sizes are offered with two thread sizes, for example 50mm in both 1-1/2 in and 2 in NPT. Order to the thread that is actually on the equipment, not to the tube size, and you avoid a bushing.

Installation and Torque
Champion publishes a torque figure per tube size, and the fitting is only rated when it is tightened to that figure.
| Tube Size | Torque | Supplied As |
|---|---|---|
| 14mm | Push lock, no torque needed | Fully assembled |
| 20mm | 300 cN.m (26 in-lb) | Fully assembled |
| 25mm | 300 cN.m (26 in-lb) | Fully assembled |
| 32mm | 400 cN.m (35 in-lb) | Fully assembled |
| 40mm | 650 cN.m (58 in-lb) | Fully assembled |
| 50mm | 65 N.m (48 ft-lb) | Nuts supplied unscrewed |
| 63mm | 65 N.m (48 ft-lb) | Nuts supplied unscrewed |
Cut the tube square, deburr the outside diameter, oil the tube lightly, push and rotate it fully home, then torque the nut. On the NPT side, use sealant or PTFE tape as you would on any tapered thread. Champion's own caution is worth repeating: do not loosen the compression nuts before installing the pipe on 14mm through 40mm, because they are torqued at the factory.
Ideal Applications
Tying a new Quick-Lock main into an existing compressor discharge, a receiver tank outlet, a refrigerated or desiccant dryer, a filter housing, an oil/water separator, or a legacy black iron header. Also used at the point of use, where a female connector lands on a machine's male inlet stub, and in phased retrofits where a plant runs new aluminum alongside the old steel and cuts over a bay at a time.
Building a Complete Quick-Lock System
Threaded connectors are one line on the bill of material. A complete run also needs:
- Quick-Lock aluminum tubing, 14mm to 63mm, in blue air, green nitrogen, grey vacuum or black inert gas
- Straight union connectors to join tube to tube in line
- 90 and 45 degree elbows and street elbows for direction changes
- Equal tees and reduction outlet tees for branches and drops
- Saddle clamp outlets to add a drop to a live run without cutting it
- Stem and reducing adapters to step between tube sizes
- Fitting plugs to cap a run you intend to extend later
- Brackets, valves, drains and tooling from the wider Quick-Lock range
Send us a sketch or a floor plan and we will count the fittings for you.
Ordering Notes
- All Quick-Lock products and accessories are NO CANCEL / NO RETURN. Champion states this in capitals in the current price list. Confirm sizes and quantities before the order goes in; we are happy to check the take-off with you first.
- Freight: Quick-Lock shipments are freight collect from Huntersville, NC 28078 or Las Vegas, NV 89113.
- Shipping weights: Champion publishes no per-fitting weight for the Quick-Lock range, so these variants carry no catalog weight. Fittings are small and heavy for their size; we quote freight on the complete package.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need thread sealant on the NPT end?
Yes. The tube side of the fitting seals mechanically on the pipe's outside diameter and needs nothing. The NPT side is a tapered thread like any other and takes PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant rated for compressed air.
Can I reuse a connector if I move the pipe?
Yes, and that is one of the real advantages of the system. Loosen the compression nut one to one and a half turns, push the pipe in, then pull it out. Inspect the o-ring, replace it if it is nicked, and the fitting goes back into service.
What is the difference between a male connector and a stem adapter?
A male connector has the Quick-Lock push fitting built into it, so the tube goes straight in. A stem adapter has a plain calibrated stem on the tube side that pushes into a separate union or elbow. Use a male connector when you are going directly from thread to tube, and a stem adapter when you need to feed an existing fitting body.
Why is a 50mm connector so much more than a 40mm?
At 50mm and 63mm the fitting changes construction. It ships with the nuts unscrewed and is torqued to 48 ft-lb on installation rather than the 26 to 58 in-lb used on the smaller sizes, and there is simply a lot more nickel-plated brass in it.
Can I use these on nitrogen or vacuum?
Yes. The same fitting is rated for compressed air, vacuum down to -29.6 in Hg, nitrogen and inert gases. Only the tube color changes with the service.
Will these fit another brand of aluminum pipe?
Do not assume so. Quick-Lock fittings are calibrated to Champion's own tube outside diameter. Metric aluminum piping systems from other manufacturers are often close but not identical, and a near-fit on a 220 PSIG joint is not worth the risk. If you are extending an existing system, send us a photo of a fitting and we will identify it.
Do you stock these?
Champion holds deep inventory on the Quick-Lock line, which is one of its advantages over made-to-order piping. Call or email with your list and we will confirm current availability and lead time.
