1800 RPM Electric Motors (4-Pole)

Four-pole electric compressor motors, nominally 1725 to 1800 RPM. This is the common speed on belt driven compressors, and it is what you will find on most piston air compressors and on a great many rotary screw packages as well.

A slower motor turning a larger sheave is the usual way a compressor gets the pump speed it needs, and it tends to run quieter and cooler than a high-speed arrangement. If the nameplate on the motor you are pulling says 1725 or 1750 RPM, you are in the right place. The faster 3600 RPM two-pole motors are the alternative, and the two are not interchangeable without changing the drive.

When you order, match horsepower, frame size, voltage and phase, shaft diameter and keyway, and enclosure. Compressor duty motors are specified for the starting torque and duty cycle a compressor puts on them, so check that the replacement is rated for the job rather than matching horsepower alone.

Send us the nameplate off the old motor, or a photo of it, and we will confirm the replacement before you order.
