Aluminum Blue Pipe for Compressed Air by Prevost (9.5ft or 18ft)

Prevost aluminum blue pipe is a modular compressed air piping system built to be assembled by hand, in place, without threading, soldering or specialist tools. The pipe is compact, lightweight and corrosion-free on the inside, so it delivers clean, dry air at the pressure you paid to make, and the push-to-connect fittings let you re-route or extend a run later without cutting the whole system apart.

Which size do you need

Pick pipe by the compressor's CFM and the length of the main run, not by the compressor's outlet thread. As a working rule for a loop or a main under 100 feet: 3/4 inch carries up to about 30 CFM, 1 inch up to 70 CFM, 1.25 inch up to 110 CFM, 1.5 inch up to 180 CFM, 2 inch up to 300 CFM, and 2.5 inch and 3 inch for 400 CFM and above. Go one size up for runs over 100 feet or if you plan to add a compressor later; the pipe is the cheapest part of the system to oversize. Drops to each workstation are normally 1/2 or 3/4 inch. What else goes on the order

Each joint uses a Prevost push in compression fitting; you will want unions, elbows, tees and threaded adapters to the compressor and dryer, a support bracket every 6 to 8 feet, wall manifolds at each drop, and one chamfering tool for the install. The 1 inch garage kit bundles 78 feet of pipe with the fittings for a typical two bay shop.
