Collection: Chicago Pneumatic

Chicago Pneumatic and Atlas Copco are the same company. CP is the value line: simpler packages, fewer controls, lower price, built on 120 years of refinement. If you want top-end controls, Class 0 oil-free air or the widest VSD range, that's the Atlas Copco side of the house. If you want a durable fixed speed screw or a cast iron piston without paying for features you'll never use, CP is usually the better buy, and that's the honest way to choose between them.

What CP covers

Fixed speed rotary screw compressors for steady industrial loads. Cast iron piston units for body shops, service bays and maintenance departments. Diesel towable compressors for road, utility and construction work. Refrigerated and desiccant dryers, filters and drains to keep water and oil out of the line. And a deep pneumatic tool catalog: impacts, ratchets, grinders, sanders, drills and percussive tools.

The sizing mistake on towables

People size a towable on engine horsepower, or on whatever number is painted on the canopy, then wonder why the tool starves. Size it on the tool's CFM at pressure. A 90 pound pavement breaker runs about 90 CFM, so a 185 CFM machine handles one breaker and a little margin, not two. Sandblasting is harder on air than anyone expects: a 1/4 inch nozzle at 100 PSI eats roughly 80 CFM, a 3/8 inch nozzle closer to 200, before you add hose losses or a second tool off the same manifold.

Add up what actually runs at the same time, at the pressure you need to hold, and buy to that. Send us the tool list and we'll check the math against the machine before you order.
