The o-ring is the one consumable in a Champion Quick-Lock joint. Everything else in the fitting is nickel-plated brass, stainless steel or technopolymer and does not wear. The o-ring is what actually seals against the outside diameter of the tube, and it is what you inspect every time a fitting comes apart.
Champion supplies them in packs of 12 in each tube size, in two compounds: standard temperature nitrile rated to 176 F, and high temperature Viton rated to 300 F.
Choose your compound and size from the dropdowns above.
Which Compound Do You Need?
| Compound | Max Temperature | Use It When |
|---|---|---|
| Nitrile, standard temp | 176 F | Normal shop air, nitrogen, vacuum and inert gas service. This is what ships in the fitting and what the vast majority of systems run. |
| Viton, high temp | 300 F | Runs close to a compressor discharge, an aftercooler or a heated dryer, hot plant environments, or where lubricant carryover and heat together are hard on nitrile. |
One caution worth stating plainly. The Viton o-ring is rated to 300 F, but the Quick-Lock system as a whole is rated to 176 F, because the tube, the paint and the other fitting components are. A high temperature o-ring buys you margin against a hot spot. It does not raise the rating of the pipe. If a run genuinely sees more than 176 F, the answer is to move the pipe further downstream of the heat source, or to use something other than aluminum pipe there. Call us and we will work out which.

Champion does not catalog a separate replacement o-ring for 14mm. The 14mm connection is a push-lock fitting that needs no torque, and its seal is supplied with the fitting.
Where the O-Ring Sits in the Joint
Champion's Quick-Lock fitting is six parts. Knowing which is which makes service obvious.
| Part | Material |
|---|---|
| Nut | Nickel-plated brass |
| Seal | High nitrile |
| Clamping washer | Stainless steel, Inox AISI 304 |
| O-ring seal | NBR as standard, Viton on the high temp part |
| Safety ring | Technopolymer |
| Body | Nickel-plated brass |
Ideal Applications
Routine service stock for any plant running Quick-Lock, re-sealing fittings that have been taken apart during a layout change, chasing a slow leak found on a commissioning test, and spares for a maintenance crib. A pack of twelve is cheap insurance against a Saturday morning with a leaking main and no parts.

Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
Air Compressor Store is an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor. If you are chasing a leak rather than stocking spares, call us. Nine times in ten a Quick-Lock joint that will not seal is a tube end that was not deburred, a joint that was not torqued, or an insertion that was not fully home, and a new o-ring will not fix any of those.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I replace an o-ring?
Isolate and depressurize the section. Loosen the compression nut one to one and a half turns, push the pipe in, pull it out. The o-ring is accessible inside the fitting body. Fit the new one, oil the tube lightly, push and rotate the tube fully home, and torque the nut to Champion's figure for that size: 26 in-lb on 20mm and 25mm, 35 in-lb on 32mm, 58 in-lb on 40mm, 48 ft-lb on 50mm and 63mm.
Do I need to replace the o-ring every time I take a fitting apart?
Not automatically. Inspect it. Replace it if it is nicked, flattened, hardened, swollen or has picked up grit. Quick-Lock joints are designed to be reconfigured, and the o-ring usually survives several cycles.
Why twelve to a pack?
Because a layout change on a main is never one joint. Twelve covers a typical reconfiguration of a bay plus spares for the crib.
Will compressor oil carryover attack the o-ring?
Standard nitrile is compatible with normal compressor lubricants. Heavy carryover combined with heat is harder on it, which is one of the cases where the Viton part earns its place. The better fix is to stop the carryover with proper coalescing filtration upstream.
Can I substitute a generic o-ring from a kit?
We would not. The seal geometry, the compound and the squeeze are specified for a 220 PSIG push-fit joint on a calibrated aluminum tube, and the whole system carries a Champion Lifetime Warranty that a generic o-ring does not help you defend.
Does the 14mm size need o-rings too?
Champion does not list a 14mm replacement pack. The 14mm connection is push lock and needs no torque, and its seal comes with the fitting. If you have a leaking 14mm joint, replace the fitting.
