A proper point of use is three things at once: air that is dry where the tool is, a way to lock the drop out before anyone puts a wrench on it, and enough outlets that the next person does not tee into your line with a hose barb. The Champion DRI drop assembly is all three, pre-built on one bracket. Distribute. Remove. Isolate.

Why the isolation and distribution units flow so much more. XCDI-VM-50 is rated 168 CFM against 53 CFM for the same thread size on the other three. That is not a misprint. The VM units have no water remover element in the path, so nothing is restricting them; the 53 and 78 CFM figures are the element's rating, not the pipe's.
What Each Part Does
Distribute: Ultra-Flex Manifold
Four separate outlet points off one block, with threaded inlet and base ports so the manifold can be fed from either end and daisy-chained. Extruded aluminum body, mounting bracket with position grooves. Supplied with three 1/2 in NPT plugs so you open only the ports you need and the rest stay sealed.
Remove: Water Remover
The DRI element captures water droplets mid-flow and achieves a 99% water removal rate. A tempered sight glass shows water being caught without opening the housing. This is the same unit sold on its own as the DRI water remover.
Isolate: Lockable Exhausting Valve
An OSHA-compliant lockable isolation valve that shuts the drop and exhausts the trapped air downstream of it. Residual pressure in a hose is what fires a fitting across a shop when someone cracks a line they thought was dead, and a plain ball valve does not solve it because the air stays trapped on the tool side. This valve vents it. The same valve is sold on its own as the lockable exhausting safety valve, and mufflers are available for it.

Specification note. Champion's August 2026 price list and the DRI Products performance sheet publish thread, flow, manifold porting and list price only. Neither gives a maximum working pressure, a temperature range, dimensions or a shipping weight, so none is stated here and no catalog weight is carried on these variants. We will not borrow figures from a comparable assembly and present them as Champion's. Ask us and we will get a rating or a drawing from the factory before you order, which matters here because DRI products cannot be returned.
Ideal Applications
Workstation and bench drops, paint and finishing booths, maintenance bays, weld cells, assembly lines where several tools share one drop, mobile service rigs, and any drop that will be locked out for routine tool changes. The isolation and distribution units suit clean, dry air mains where water is already handled upstream and what you actually need is four outlets and a lockout point.
Building the Rest of the Drop
- Quick-Lock aluminum compressed air pipe, 14mm to 63mm
- Saddle clamp outlets to take the drop off a live main without cutting it
- NPT adapters, bushings, plugs and gauges
- Quick couplers and plugs for the manifold outlets
- Condensate drains for the water the remover collects
- Air dryers, which is where the water problem is actually solved
Legacy Part Numbers
Champion's 2015 DRI literature numbered these units differently and customers still quote from it. Same products, new numbers.
| Legacy Number | Current Number | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| CDRI-50 / -75 / -100 | XCDI-WRVM-50 / -75 / -100 | Complete point of use solution |
| CIVM-50 / -75 / -100 | XCDI-VM-50 / -75 | Isolation and distribution unit |
| CIVWR-50 / -75 / -100 | XCDI-WRV-50 / -75 / -100 | Isolation and removal unit |
| CWRM-50 / -75 | XCDI-WRM-50 / -75 | Removal and distribution unit |

Also Available by Quote
- XCDI-VM-100 (legacy CIVM-100), the 1 in isolation and distribution unit rated 383 CFM. It appears in Champion's DRI performance sheet but carries no list price in the August 2026 price book, so it is not sold from this page. We can quote it from the factory.
- CCC1-AST, the DRI Condensate Catcher Kit, same situation.
Ordering Notes
- All DRI products and accessories are NO CANCEL / NO RETURN, stated in bold on Champion's own price list page. Confirm configuration and thread before ordering; we are glad to check it with you.
- Manifold plugs: manifold configurations ship with three 1/2 in NPT plugs so unused outlets stay sealed.
- Mounting: complete point-of-use units include mounting brackets; isolation and distribution units include a bracket on the manifold; isolation and removal and removal and distribution units include a single bracket.
- Shipping weights: Champion publishes no weight for the DRI range, so no catalog weight is carried on these variants.
Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
We are an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor and we sell compressed air as a system. Tell us what the drop feeds, how far it is from the dryer and whether it gets locked out, and we will tell you which of these four configurations you actually need rather than selling you the biggest one. On a no-return line that is worth five minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the complete unit and the isolation and removal unit?
The manifold. Both have the water remover and the lockable valve; the complete unit adds the four-port Ultra-Flex manifold and the three plugs. If the drop feeds one tool through one coupler, the isolation and removal unit is enough and saves about $60 at list.
Why would I buy the isolation and distribution unit with no water remover?
Because the water is already handled upstream and what you need at the wall is four outlets and a lockout. It also flows far more air for the same thread, 168 CFM on the 1/2 in against 53 CFM, because nothing is restricting it.
Is the lockable valve really an OSHA lockout device?
Champion publishes it as an OSHA-compliant lockable isolation valve, and it accepts a padlock in the closed position. Whether a given device satisfies your site's energy control procedure is a call for your safety program, not for us; what we can tell you is that it isolates and exhausts rather than just isolating.
Do I need the muffler?
Only for noise. The valve exhausts the trapped downstream air to atmosphere when it closes, and in a quiet bay that is a sharp crack. The mufflers are XCQL-MF-08M for 1/2 in and XCQL-MF-12M for 3/4 in and 1 in, listed with our Quick-Lock NPT adapters and accessories.
Can I add a water remover to a VM unit later?
You can plumb one in ahead of it, yes. Our standalone DRI water remover in the matching thread size does exactly that. It will not bolt into the VM assembly as a module, so you are building the drop rather than converting the unit.
Can I return it if I pick the wrong configuration?
No. Champion marks the entire DRI range NO CANCEL / NO RETURN. Call or email us first and we will confirm it with you.
NOTE: Actual product may be different from pictured!
