Shutting the air off is not the same as making the line safe. Close a ball valve and the air downstream of it stays in the hose, the manifold and the tool, and that is the pressure that throws a fitting across a shop when the next person cracks a joint they believed was dead. The Champion lockable exhausting safety valve closes the supply and vents the trapped downstream air to atmosphere in the same motion, then takes a padlock in the closed position.
Choose your port size from the dropdown above.
Model Selection Chart
| Part Number | Port Size | Supplied With | Matching Muffler |
|---|---|---|---|
| XCDI-SV-08F | 1/2 in FNPT | No muffler | XCQL-MF-08M |
| XCDI-SV-12F | 3/4 in FNPT | No muffler | XCQL-MF-12M |
Both valves list at the same price. Order by the port you are plumbing into.
What It Does
- OSHA-compliant lockable isolation valve. It accepts a padlock in the closed position so the drop can be included in a lockout tagout procedure.
- Exhausts residual pressure. Closing the valve vents everything downstream of it, which is the part a plain shutoff does not do.
- Point-of-use sized. 1/2 in and 3/4 in FNPT, built for the drop rather than the main.
- Optional mufflers to take the crack out of the exhaust in a quiet bay.
Mufflers
The valve ships without a muffler. Champion sells two, and they are already on our site as part of the Quick-Lock accessory range rather than on this page, because they share the Quick-Lock part numbering:
- XCQL-MF-08M for the 1/2 in valve
- XCQL-MF-12M for the 3/4 in valve, and for 1 in applications
Both are stocked on our Quick-Lock NPT adapters, plugs and gauges listing. Legacy numbers for the same two mufflers are CSIL-03 and CSIL-04.
A Note on the Part Numbers in Champion's Catalog
This valve is printed under three different prefixes across the August 2026 price book, and two of them are typographical errors. Page 75 prices the valve correctly as XCDI-SV-08F and XCDI-SV-12F. The muffler rows beside it cross-reference "XCDR-SV-08F" and "XCDR-SV-12F-16F", and the Quick-Lock muffler rows on page 67 cross-reference "XGQL-SV-08F" and "XGQL-SV-12F-16F". There is only one valve. If you have been quoted an XCDR or XGQL number, it is this product, and we will order it as XCDI-SV.

Specification note. Champion's August 2026 price list and the DRI Products literature publish the port size, the lockable and exhausting function and the list price. Neither gives a maximum working pressure, a temperature range, a Cv, a body material callout or a shipping weight, so none is stated here and no catalog weight is carried on these variants. We will not quote figures from a similar valve as though they were Champion's. If your lockout procedure needs a rating on paper, ask us and we will get it from the factory before you order, which matters because DRI products cannot be returned.
Ideal Applications
Lockout tagout points on workstation and bench drops, paint and finishing booths, weld cells, maintenance bays, tool change stations, test stands, and any drop where a technician will break a joint as part of routine work. Also worth fitting ahead of any water remover or filter housing that gets opened for element changes.
Built Into the DRI Drop Assemblies
This valve is the "isolate" element of Champion's DRI point-of-use system. Three of the four DRI drop assemblies already include it, pre-mounted alongside a water remover, a four-port manifold or both. If you are building a new drop from scratch, the assembly is usually the cheaper route than buying the pieces separately; this page is for retrofitting a lockout point onto a drop you already have.

Ordering Notes
- All DRI products and accessories are NO CANCEL / NO RETURN, per Champion's August 2026 price list.
- Mufflers are ordered separately and are not included with the valve.
- Shipping weights: Champion publishes no weight for this valve, so no catalog weight is carried on these variants.
Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
We are an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor and we would rather talk through where the lockout points belong than ship you one valve. Send us a sketch of the drop and we will tell you whether this valve on its own does the job or whether the complete DRI assembly is the better buy.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a lockable ball valve?
A lockable ball valve isolates. This valve isolates and exhausts. After you close it, the hose and tool downstream are at atmosphere rather than holding 120 PSI, which is the difference that matters when someone disconnects a fitting.
Does it satisfy our lockout tagout procedure?
Champion publishes it as an OSHA-compliant lockable isolation valve and it padlocks closed. Whether a specific device satisfies your written energy control procedure is a decision for your safety program; we can supply the valve and whatever documentation the factory has.
Do I need the muffler?
Only for noise. The valve works without one. In a quiet bay or an occupied office-adjacent space, the exhaust is a sharp report and the muffler is worth the $21 to $26.
Why are the 1/2 in and 3/4 in the same price?
That is what Champion's August 2026 price list publishes: both XCDI-SV-08F and XCDI-SV-12F are $176 list. Pick the port, not the price.
I was quoted an XCDR-SV or XGQL-SV number. Is that this valve?
Yes. Those two prefixes appear in cross-references in Champion's own catalog and neither is a real part number. The valve is XCDI-SV-08F or XCDI-SV-12F.
Can I return it if I order the wrong port size?
No. Champion marks the entire DRI range NO CANCEL / NO RETURN. Confirm the port with us first and we will check it.
