nano desiccant air dryers: minus 40 and minus 100 degree F dew points
When a 38 degree F dew point is not dry enough, for outdoor piping in freezing weather, paint and powder lines, instrument air, laboratories, food packaging or medical air, a desiccant dryer takes the pressure dew point to minus 40 or minus 100 degrees F by adsorbing water vapor onto a bed of activated alumina or molecular sieve. nano builds them in three regeneration styles and we carry all of them.
Heatless dryers use a slice of dried air to purge the offline tower. NDL modular runs 2 to 1110 CFM in standard (minus 40) and low dew point (minus 100) versions with the after filter built in, and NDM is the same modular design with pneumatic controls for sites without power, 34 to 1110 CFM. D5 HL twin tower covers 70 to 3000 SCFM with ASME vessels, and CDP critical dew point, 70 to 1250 SCFM, adds dew point demand control so purge air is only spent when the outlet dew point needs it. Heated dryers cut purge loss: EH externally heated, 150 to 3000 SCFM, heats the purge air, and ABP blower purge, 800 to 6000 SCFM, regenerates with heated ambient air and near zero compressed air loss. For people, not tools, BHD breathing air, 50 to 1000 SCFM, dries and purifies to Grade D, and NDC removes CO2 and moisture from lab gas at 1.5 to 120 liters per minute.
Choosing
Under about 300 SCFM a heatless unit is the lowest cost to buy and purge air is a small number; above that, EH or ABP pays back the extra price in a year or two of saved compressor capacity. Every desiccant dryer needs a 0.01 micron coalescing filter ahead of it and a 1 micron dust filter after it; the NDL and NDM include the after filter, the twin tower units take nano GFN or NFZ filters.
