The DRI water remover works because of one part: the element that captures water droplets as the air turns through the housing. When it is tired, the housing is just a lump of aluminum in the line. These are the genuine Champion DRI replacement elements, one per housing size.
Choose the element for your housing from the dropdown above.
Element Selection Chart
| Element Part Number | Fits Water Remover | Thread | Flow |
|---|---|---|---|
| XCDI-WRE-50 | XCDI-WR-50-08F | 1/2 in NPT | 53 CFM |
| XCDI-WRE-75 | XCDI-WR-75-12F | 3/4 in NPT | 78 CFM |
| XCDI-WRE-100 | XCDI-WR-100-16F | 1 in NPT | 131 CFM |
| XCDI-WRE-150 | XCDI-WR-150-24F | 1-1/2 in NPT | 212 CFM |
| XCDI-WRE-200 | XCDI-WR-200-32F | 2 in NPT | 424 CFM |
These elements also serve the water remover built into the DRI drop assemblies. Match the element to the thread size of the assembly: a 1/2 in XCDI-WRVM or XCDI-WRV takes the XCDI-WRE-50, a 3/4 in takes the XCDI-WRE-75, and a 1 in takes the XCDI-WRE-100.

Specification note. Champion's August 2026 price list publishes the part number, the housing it fits and the list price, and nothing else. There is no published media type, micron rating, dimension or shipping weight for the DRI element in any Champion document we have found, so none is stated here and no catalog weight is carried on these variants. If you need a specification sheet before ordering, ask us and we will request it from the factory, which matters on this page because DRI parts cannot be returned.
When to Change It
There is no published hour or month interval. In practice there are three signals:
- Pressure drop. If the drop across the housing has climbed noticeably, the element is loading.
- The sight glass goes quiet. In a system you know is carrying water, a sight glass that stops showing water being caught usually means the element has stopped catching it.
- Water downstream. Liquid reaching the tool on a drop that used to stay dry.
Most shops put a DRI element on an annual cycle and bring the date forward if the air is wet or the duty is hard. Isolate the drop before opening the housing. The lockable exhausting safety valve exists to make that step safe, because it bleeds the pressure trapped downstream rather than just shutting the supply.
Ideal Applications
Routine service on paint and finishing drops, blast cabinets, plasma tables, air tool stations and instrument drops running a Champion DRI water remover. Keep one spare per size on the shelf; these are no-return items, so order the size you can confirm.

Ordering Notes

- Shipping weights: Champion publishes no weight for DRI elements, so no catalog weight is carried on these variants.
Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
We are an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor, so these are factory elements and not a lookalike with a similar outside diameter. If you have a housing in the shop and are not sure which element it takes, send us a photo of the label and we will identify it before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which element my housing takes?
By the housing part number, which is on the label. XCDI-WR-50-08F takes XCDI-WRE-50, and so on by size. If the label is gone, measure the thread: 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/2 or 2 in NPT maps to the 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200 elements respectively.
Is there a generic equivalent?
We do not sell one and we would not recommend sourcing one on a 99% water removal claim you cannot verify. The element is what the rating is based on.
How often should I change it?
Champion gives no fixed interval and calls it long-life. Change it on rising pressure drop, on water appearing downstream, or annually as a default on a working production drop.
Can I clean and reuse it?
No. Champion publishes no cleaning procedure for the DRI element and it is not sold as a cleanable part. Replace it.
Can I return an element if I order the wrong size?
No. Champion marks the entire DRI range NO CANCEL / NO RETURN. Check with us first and we will confirm the size.
