The Champion Nitrogen Advantage Series puts a nitrogen supply inside your own shop. Each unit takes ordinary compressed air from the compressor you already own, passes it through coalescing and particulate pre-filtration, and separates it across a membrane bundle made in the U.S.A. into a dry nitrogen stream of 95% to 99.9% purity, stored in an ASME coded receiver and ready to use. No cylinder rental, no delivery schedule, no run-outs in the middle of a busy Saturday.
Four models cover 3.2 to 14.2 SCFM of nitrogen output: one rolling purge-and-fill cart for the shop that wants nitrogen at the bay, and three tank-mounted stationary generators for the shop that wants it piped everywhere.
Select your model from the dropdown above.
Model Selection Chart
| Part Number | Style | N2 Output | Nitrogen Purity | Receiver Size | Air Input Required | Max Inlet Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NA6-3P | Portable cart | 3.2 SCFM * | 95-99.9% | 30 gal vertical | 6.3 SCFM * | 175 PSIG |
| NA4-60 | Stationary | 4.3 SCFM | 95-99.9% | 60 gal | 8.4 SCFM | 175 PSIG |
| NA7-80 | Stationary | 7.1 SCFM | 95-99.9% | 80 gal | 13.8 SCFM | 175 PSIG |
| NA14-80 | Stationary | 14.2 SCFM | 95-99.9% | 80 gal | 27.6 SCFM | 175 PSIG |
Nitrogen output and air input for the three stationary models are rated at 160 PSIG. * The NA6-3P portable is rated at 125 PSIG, which is why its published numbers look lower than the NA4-60 despite a similar membrane package.
Photo Note
The photograph on this listing is Champion's factory image of the NA6-3P portable cart. The NA4-60, NA7-80 and NA14-80 are stationary units built on a vertical ASME receiver with the membrane module, filtration and controls mounted to the tank, and they do not look like the cart. Call us if you would like to see a stationary unit before you order.
Why Nitrogen in Tires
The air we breathe is about 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, with small amounts of other gases. In a tire, the oxygen fraction is the part that causes trouble. Champion publishes four reasons shops move their tire inflation to nitrogen:
- Better fuel efficiency - Nitrogen holds pressure longer, which keeps the tire at the contact patch the vehicle manufacturer designed for. Correct pressure means lower rolling resistance.
- Longer tire life - Oxygen oxidizes what it touches. At the temperatures and pressures inside a working tire it attacks inner liners and belt packages. Nitrogen does not.
- No rim rust - Generated nitrogen is dry. Dry gas produces no condensation inside the wheel, and no condensation means no rim corrosion.
- Better TPMS behavior - Slower pressure loss means fewer low-pressure warning lights coming back a few weeks after a top-up.
Champion points customers to getnitrogen.org for independent background on nitrogen tire inflation.
Standard Features
- ASME coded receiver on every model.
- Coalescing and particulate pre-filters included, because oil carryover is what kills a nitrogen membrane.
- Filter replacement indicators so the pre-filters get changed on condition rather than on guesswork.
- Membranes made in the U.S.A.
- Automatic shutoff.
- Lifting eye centrally located on the receiver for rigging the stationary units into place.
- NA6-3P adds a purge and fill system, four hoses and two extra ports, with the controller on top of the cart where a technician can read it standing up.

Sizing Your Generator
Two numbers decide the model, and they pull in opposite directions.
Start with nitrogen demand. A typical passenger car tire purged and filled from empty takes roughly the tire volume several times over, since a proper conversion purges the residual air before it fills. A single-bay shop converting a handful of vehicles a day is served by the NA4-60. A busy tire store working through a steady queue wants the NA7-80. Commercial truck and fleet work, where each tire is many times the volume of a car tire, is NA14-80 territory.
Then check your compressed air supply. Membrane separation is not free. The generator consumes roughly twice its nitrogen output in feed air, so the NA14-80 needs 27.6 SCFM of clean dry air at 160 PSIG on top of everything else the shop runs. Adding a nitrogen generator to a compressor that is already working hard is the most common reason an installation disappoints. If your compressor cannot hold 160 PSIG while delivering that flow, size the generator to the air you have, or talk to us about the compressor first.
Not sure? Our compressed air engineers will size the generator and check your compressor against it before you buy, at no charge.
Ideal Applications
Tire and automotive service centers converting customers to nitrogen inflation, new car and truck dealerships running nitrogen as a delivery-time service, commercial truck and trailer fleets, bus and municipal fleet shops, agricultural and off-road tire service, racing and performance shops where consistent hot pressure matters, and RV and powersports dealers. The portable NA6-3P also suits mobile tire service and multi-building operations where one unit has to move to the work.
What a Nitrogen Conversion Needs Besides the Generator
The generator makes the gas. Converting a shop to nitrogen service usually also means inflation hoses and reels, a handheld nitrogen and oxygen analyzer to verify purity at the valve, green valve stem caps and sleeves so a converted tire is identifiable, and point of sale material so the service can be explained and sold at the counter. Champion catalogs all of it, and we list it in two companion products:
- Champion Nitrogen Advantage Generator Accessories - auto fill cart, inflation hoses, hose reels, handheld nitrogen/oxygen analyzer, battery charger and low pressure conversion kits.
- Champion Nitrogen Tire Inflation Shop Supplies - green valve stem caps, sleeves and o-rings, N2 air chuck, window stickers, mirror hang tags and the point of sale promotion kit.
Replacement Pre-Filter Elements
The coalescing and particulate pre-filter elements, Champion part numbers FIL14CE (1 micron / 1 ppm) and FIL14FE (0.1 micron / 0.0008 ppm), are not currently priced in the Champion price list. Call or email us and we will get you a firm price and lead time from the factory. Do not run a membrane generator on tired pre-filters; oil carryover past a spent coalescer is the fastest way to ruin a membrane bundle and it is not a warranty failure.
Upstream Air Quality Matters
A nitrogen membrane is a consumable that lasts for years if it is fed properly and for months if it is not. The pre-filters shipped with the unit are the last line of defense, not the whole strategy. Shops running a lubricated rotary screw or piston compressor should have a refrigerated air dryer and proper coalescing filtration ahead of the generator. Moisture and oil are what the membrane cannot tolerate.
Why Buy from Air Compressor Store
Air Compressor Store is an authorized Champion Pneumatic distributor. Every Nitrogen Advantage generator ships with the full factory warranty and with access to our compressed air engineers before and after the sale. We will size the generator against your actual compressor, tell you plainly if your air supply is the real constraint, and quote the conversion supplies alongside the machine so the shop opens for nitrogen business on day one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate air compressor for this?
You need a compressor, but not necessarily a new one. The generator runs on your existing compressed air. What matters is whether that compressor can supply the feed air listed in the chart, at 160 PSIG, on top of your normal shop demand. The NA4-60 needs 8.4 SCFM and the NA14-80 needs 27.6 SCFM. Call us and we will check it against your machine.
What purity will I actually get?
Between 95% and 99.9%. Membrane generators trade purity against flow: pull less gas and the purity rises, pull more and it falls. Tire inflation is typically run in the 95% to 98% range, which is where the published output figures apply. The handheld nitrogen/oxygen analyzer in our accessories listing lets you verify what is actually coming out of the hose.
How is this different from renting nitrogen cylinders?
A generator makes gas on demand from air you already pay for, so the running cost after purchase is essentially the electricity to compress the feed air. Cylinders carry a per-fill charge, rental or demurrage on the bottles, delivery scheduling, and the risk of running out mid-shift. Shops with steady nitrogen volume generally find the generator pays back; shops with occasional demand often do not. We are happy to run that comparison with you honestly rather than sell you a machine you do not need.
Portable or stationary?
The NA6-3P is a self-contained cart with its own 30 gallon receiver, purge and fill system, four hoses and casters, and it goes to the vehicle. The stationary units are larger, cheaper per SCFM, and are meant to be piped to a green nitrogen drop at each bay. If you have more than two bays doing nitrogen work, the stationary route is usually the better installation.
What maintenance does it need?
Change the coalescing and particulate pre-filter elements on the indicators, keep the upstream dryer and filters in good order, and drain the receiver. The membrane itself is not serviceable and is not a routine replacement item; treated properly it is a long-life component.
Can I run it at a lower pressure?
Yes. Stationary units ship preset at 145/160 PSIG and the NA6-3P at 110/125 PSIG. Champion offers lower pressure settings from the factory, and low pressure conversion kits are available for the field. Specify your system pressure when ordering a conversion kit.
Why is the NA6-3P more expensive than the NA7-80?
Because you are not only buying nitrogen capacity. The NA6-3P is a complete mobile service station: cart, casters, 30 gallon ASME receiver, automatic purge and fill controller, four inflation hoses and the extra ports for dual wheels and spares. The stationary NA7-80 is a generator on a tank, and the hoses, reels and fill equipment are separate purchases.
How long does a nitrogen conversion take per vehicle?
That depends on the equipment, not just the generator. The NA6-3P's automatic purge system is built to purge and inflate four tires at once, which is what makes a conversion practical as a paid service rather than a favor. Ask us about the auto fill cart if you are running a stationary generator and want the same workflow.
Do you stock these?
Nitrogen Advantage generators are built and shipped from the factory F.O.B. shipping point. Call or email for current lead time and a freight quote; Champion does not publish shipping weights for this family, so freight is quoted per order.
