M3550 DISTRIBUTOR - Condensate Management System

A demand-style drain valve does not trickle. It opens, dumps its entire charge in a second or two, and closes. That surge hits the top of the carbon bed hard enough to channel and disturb it, and a disturbed bed adsorbs less oil and exhausts early. The DISTRIBUTOR is a three-port collection vessel that takes the surge, holds it, and feeds the separator at a rate the carbon can actually treat.

Champion recommends adding a DISTRIBUTOR whenever the demand drains feeding one separator can collectively deliver more than:

• 43 oz on a CSP15
• 64 oz on a CSP30
• 96 oz on a CSP60

Add up the bowl capacities of every demand drain routed to the unit. A pair of 32 oz drains on a CSP15 already exceeds the threshold. The DISTRIBUTOR's second job is splitting flow evenly across manifolded vessels, which is why one is already included in every CSP120, CSP180 and CSP240. Buy M3550 separately when you are adding it to a single-vessel installation, or replacing one. The DISTRIBUTOR takes its own M3544 expansion chamber element.

M3554 and M3555 Freeze Protection Heaters

An EnviroChamp 2 is a water-filled vessel. In an unheated compressor room, an outdoor enclosure, or a northern plant that shuts down over a long weekend, that water can freeze, and a frozen bed will not treat condensate while your compressors keep making it. The heater holds the vessel above freezing so the separator stays in service year round and the carbon is not damaged by ice expansion.

• M3554 - 0.5 kW, sized for the CSP15.
• M3555 - 1 kW, sized for the CSP30 and the CSP60. A CSP60 requires two M3555 heaters, one per heated zone. Order quantity two for a CSP60, and two per vessel on a CSP120, CSP180 or CSP240.

Is a DISTRIBUTOR already included with my separator?

Does the DISTRIBUTOR need servicing?

Yes, it takes one M3544 expansion chamber element. Change it with the rest of the unit.

How many heaters does a CSP60 need?

Two M3555 heaters. A CSP30 needs one. A CSP15 needs one M3554.

Will a heater let me install this outdoors?

It provides freeze protection for the vessel, which is the main winter risk. Follow Champion's installation guidance for any outdoor or unconditioned location and make sure the discharge piping is also protected, since an unheated drain line will freeze regardless of what the vessel is doing.
