Champion CA-Series ES Enclosed Oil-Free Rotary Scroll Air Compressors, 5 to 10 HP
The Champion CA-Series ES is a fully enclosed, 100% oil-free rotary scroll air compressor built for plants, laboratories, clean rooms, food and beverage lines, electronics assembly and any other place where a drop of oil in the air stream is not acceptable and where the compressor has to live in the same room as the people. The sound attenuating enclosure is the whole point of the ES: a base mounted ES5 runs at 65 dB(A), which is normal conversation level, so it can sit at the point of use instead of being piped in from a compressor room.
Every ES package is a complete, wired, piped and tested system. The control panel is included, the aftercooler and moisture separator are built in, the air end is 100% oil-less with Champion's tip seal design, and the duty cycle is 100% continuous. There is no oil to change, no oil carryover to filter out downstream, no oil-water condensate to dispose of and no risk of an oil slug reaching a process.
Warthog Air Compressor Store is an authorized Champion distributor. Every price on this page is the current Champion August 15, 2026 list price and our published price, taken straight from the factory price book.
Model Selection Chart
Champion names the multiplex packages by TOTAL horsepower, so a duplex built from two 5 HP ES5 modules is called an ES10 D. Pick the module size first (ES5, ES7 or ES10), then the configuration. The identification number in bold is the factory order number and is the SKU on this page.

* Weight note, stated plainly: the August 2026 price book prints 1355 lb for the ES30 T and the ES40 Q, which is the same figure it prints for the ES20 D on the same page and is a clear copy error. The weights shown here for those two packages, 1713 lb and 1972 lb, are Champion's own published figures from the CA-Series ES T and ES Q product bulletins (CLCS-CA-IND-EST and CLCS-CA-IND-ESQ, 1st Ed. 10/17), which match the price book exactly on every other package in the range. Confirm the shipping weight with us before you book freight on those two.

What the Configurations Mean
- Simplex Base Mount. One motor and one air end on a base, no receiver. Use this when you already have a receiver, or when you are adding capacity to an existing header.
- Simplex 30, 80 or 120 Gal Horizontal Tank. The same package mounted on a horizontal ASME receiver. The 30 gallon suits intermittent lab duty, the 80 and 120 gallon suit steady production demand. Tank mounting also drops the published sound level by about 1 dB(A).
- Duplex Base Mount. Two modules and two air ends in one enclosure on one base, with the Deluxe HMI controller standard so the modules alternate and share hours. If one air end is down the other keeps the plant running.
- Triplex and Quadraplex Base Mount. Three or four modules in one enclosure, Deluxe HMI controller standard. This is how you get 41 to 124 ACFM of oil-free air with genuine redundancy and with part load efficiency, because the controller only runs the modules the demand calls for.
Triplex and quadraplex packages are base mounted only. If you want a receiver with them, add one of the remote air receivers from the CA-Series ES factory installed options listing.
Ideal Applications
- Pharmaceutical, biotech and laboratory air where oil contamination is not tolerable
- Food and beverage processing and packaging
- Electronics and semiconductor assembly, including air that touches circuit boards and optics
- Clean rooms and controlled environments, where the enclosure keeps the compressor in the room instead of in a mechanical space
- Dental, veterinary and analytical instrument air
- Textile, printing and paint lines where oil carryover ruins the product
- Any plant replacing an oil-flooded screw plus a filtration train, where the filters, the oil, the oil changes and the condensate disposal all go away with the oil
Service and Accessories
Scroll is the simplest air end in compressed air: no vanes, no gears, no oil, two parts that orbit without touching. Routine service is tip seals, bearings, the intake filter and the drive belts. Champion publishes tip seal and bearing intervals of 10,000 hours at 116 PSIG and 5,000 hours at 140 PSIG on the CA-Series bare air end, which is a good planning figure for the packaged units as well.
Factory installed options, receiver coatings, remote receivers, electric tank drains, NEMA 4 electrics, the Deluxe HMI controller on simplex units and Massachusetts code fittings are all priced separately on the Champion CA-Series ES Factory-Installed Options and Adders page. Order them with the compressor so they arrive installed.

Ordering Notes
- Prices shown are per complete package at the Champion August 15, 2026 list price, with our price shown against it.
- Rated pressure, 116 PSIG or 140 PSIG, is an order entry choice and does not change the package price. Tell us which you need when you order.
- Voltage on ES5 and ES7 is an order entry choice at no price difference. ES10 modules are three phase only.
- Weights shown are the Champion published estimated weights, with the two corrections noted above. Freight is prepaid and add from Princeton, IL.
- Lead time is quoted at order. Call 828-581-0014 or email sales@aircompressorstore.com for a firm delivery date.
Also Available by Quote
- Massachusetts receiver risers, part numbers 306SIS4013 (30 gal horizontal) and 307SIS4013 (80/120 gal horizontal). Champion prints these as ship loose items with no list price. We quote them on request.
- High temp switch. Champion lists it as available optional equipment on the CA-Series ES but prints no list price for it. Note that the Deluxe HMI controller already includes a pressure transducer and RTDs for high temperature monitoring, so on most jobs the HMI covers it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How quiet is a CA-Series ES really? Champion publishes 64 to 73 dB(A) depending on the package. The base mounted ES5 is 65 dB(A) and the tank mounted ES5 is 64. For reference, normal conversation sits around 60 to 65 dB(A). This is a compressor you can stand next to and talk over.
What is the difference between the CA-Series ES and the CA-Series S? Same oil-free scroll air ends and the same air. The ES adds a full sound attenuating enclosure and includes the control panel in the base package. The open frame S is less expensive and easier to get at in a compressor room, the ES is what you buy when the compressor has to live where people work.
Is the air really oil-free? Yes. There is no oil anywhere in the compression chamber, so the air is oil-free by design rather than by filtration. You are not relying on a coalescing filter to keep oil out of your process.
Do I still need a dryer? Usually yes. The package includes an aftercooler and moisture separator, which knocks out the bulk of the condensate, but if your application needs a pressure dew point below ambient you still want a refrigerated or desiccant dryer downstream. We size it with you.
Why would I buy a triplex instead of one bigger compressor? Redundancy and part load efficiency. Three 10 HP modules under one controller give you 93 ACFM, and if one module needs service you still have 62 ACFM. A single machine of the same size gives you zero when it is down.
Does the price include a starter and control panel? On the CA-Series ES, yes. The base package price includes the control panel, which is one of the real differences from the open frame CA-Series S.
What voltage should I order? ES5 and ES7 are available single phase 208/230V or three phase 208/230/460/575V at the same list price. ES10 modules are three phase only, and all multiplex packages are three phase.
Can I get a receiver with a triplex or quadraplex? Yes, as a remote air receiver in 80, 120 or 240 gallon, plain, vinyl (epoxy) lined or galvanized, with optional bypass isolation valves. They are on the factory installed options page.
