The 4710W is a 35 lb wheeled compressor for work where noise and weight matter more than volume: trim carpentry, cabinet installs, finished homes, apartment maintenance, upholstery and the home garage. Its oil free dual piston pump makes 2.2 CFM at 90 PSI, fills the 4.7 gallon tank in 78 seconds and runs at 76 dB, which is quiet enough to talk over and to use inside an occupied house.
What it runs: brad, finish and pin nailers, narrow crown staplers, a blow gun, tire inflation and a touch up airbrush. One framing or roofing nailer will work at a slow pace. It will not keep up with an impact wrench, a DA sander, a die grinder or an HVLP gun; for those look at the 10 to 11 CFM 20040CAD or the piston compressor range. If you want the same quiet pump with more storage, the 8010 carries an 8 gallon tank and the 4620AC doubles the output at 2 HP.
Power is 110 volt at 7.5 amps, so it runs on any 15 amp household circuit. Use a longer air hose rather than an extension cord; a cord drops the voltage and shortens motor life. Drain the tank after each day of use (the drain is a manual petcock) and change the two intake filters when they darken. Add a regulator and a 1/4 inch hose if the job calls for it.
