Prevost PPS1 Aluminum Pipe to Male NPT Straight Fitting

These straight fittings take a Prevost PPS aluminum air pipe on the compression side and give you a tapered male NPT thread on the other, for landing the line into a female threaded port on a regulator, filter, tool drop or piece of equipment. The compression end seats the pipe without threading or welding, so the pipe itself is never cut to a thread.

They are part of the Prevost aluminum air piping system and cover pipe sizes from 1/2 inch through 3 inch, with thread sizes from 3/8 to 3 inch NPT. Pick the pipe OD first, then the thread you need to land in; most sizes come in two thread options so you can step down without a separate reducer.

Where it is used

The usual spots are the compressor connection, the inlet and outlet of a filter regulator or dryer, a threaded ball valve, and the feed into a wall manifold. At the compressor, put a flexible link hose between the machine and the first fitting so vibration does not work on the pipe joints.

Installation

Thread sealant or PTFE tape goes on the NPT end only. The compression end is dry: cut the pipe square, chamfer it with the chamfering tool, push it fully home and tighten the nut. Use the 90 degree elbow where the line has to turn before it lands, and the unions collection for the other PPS joints.
