The ABAC COOL 150 is a refrigerated air dryer rated at 150 CFM, sized to dry the full output of a mid range rotary screw or a large two stage piston compressor before that air reaches your tools, air lines and finishing work. It runs on 230V single phase 60 Hz power and pipes in through 1-1/2 inch female connections.

Typical applications
Paint and body shops, cabinet and woodworking shops, production cells, laser and plasma tables, packaging lines, injection molding, tire inflation and pneumatic control systems, and any shop where water in the air line is blowing out finishes, rusting tools and fittings, or freezing an outdoor drop in winter. A refrigerated dryer chills the compressed air so the water condenses, drains it away, and sends dry air down the line, which is the most straightforward way to stop moisture damage downstream of a compressor.
How the COOL range works
ABAC builds the COOL range around a combined air to air and air to refrigerant heat exchanger with an integrated water separator, a hot gas bypass valve that holds refrigeration capacity steady across load conditions and keeps the evaporator from freezing, a capillary tube and refrigerant filter on the cooling circuit, a timer drain that clears condensate on its own, and a front panel dew point indicator with a green target zone so you can read air quality at a glance. ABAC rates the COOL range for a 45 degree F (7 degree C) pressure dew point, which it notes covers more than 95 percent of industrial compressed air applications.
How it compares
Capacity is the main step between COOL models, but the COOL 150 is also where the range changes gear. The smaller units through the COOL 125 are rated to 232 PSI and run R-134a refrigerant; the COOL 150 and the larger COOL 200 and COOL 250 are rated to 188 PSI and run R-404A. If your system regularly sits above 188 PSI, size the dryer around that ceiling rather than around flow alone. Otherwise size it against the compressor's rated delivery at your working pressure, because undersizing is the usual reason a dryer disappoints.
What to pair it with
A refrigerated dryer does its best work as part of a treatment train. Put a coalescing filter upstream for oil carryover and a particulate filter downstream when the work calls for cleaner air, and give the condensate somewhere to go. At 150 CFM the COOL 150 suits a shop running a mid range rotary screw compressor such as a 25 or 30 HP machine, or a large two stage piston compressor, where a drop level dryer would be overrun.
