The ABAC ABC7-2180V2P is the big pump build of the 7.5 HP Ironman: the larger C2 two-stage cast iron pump on an 80 gallon vertical ASME tank, delivering 24 CFM at a maximum 175 PSI. That is roughly three more CFM than the standard 7.5 HP build gets from the C1 pump, which is what a shop wants once it has outgrown 21 CFM but does not want the service entry a 10 HP machine asks for. The bigger pump reaches the same output turning slower, and the vertical tank keeps all 80 gallons of reserve in a small floor footprint. Choose 230V single-phase (ABC7-2180V2P), 230V three-phase (ABC7-2380V2P), or 460V three-phase (ABC7-4380V2P).

Why the C2 pump
ABAC builds the Ironman range around a fully cast iron pump because the extra mass absorbs heat and damps vibration, which is what lets a compressor hold up under the long run times of a working shop rather than occasional use. The C2 is the larger of the two Ironman cast iron pumps, and on the same 7.5 HP motor it trades speed for displacement: 24 CFM instead of 21. Turning slower for the same air is easier on valves, rings and oil. Two stages work on the same principle, compressing in two steps with cooling in between, so 175 PSI arrives with less heat than a single-stage pump straining for the same pressure. The fully enclosed belt guard and the ASME tank with safety valves are standard across the Ironman simplex line.
Sizing and how it compares
Size on CFM, not horsepower. 24 CFM runs impact wrenches, ratchets, blow guns and spray guns with margin, and holds pressure when a second tool joins in. On the same 7.5 HP vertical platform the ABC7-2180VP uses the smaller C1 pump for 21 CFM, and the 5 HP ABC5-2180VP delivers 16 CFM. If one continuous duty tool such as a dual action sander will run most of the day, or two operators work at once, step up to the 10 HP ABC10-2312VP at 32 CFM on a 120 gallon tank. The full feature ABC7-2180V2FF is the same 24 CFM machine in ABAC's full feature configuration.
Typical applications
Busy auto and truck repair shops, tire and fleet service bays, woodworking and metal shops, and light fabrication where several air tools run at once and the compressor is expected to keep up through the workday rather than catch up between jobs.
Power and air quality
Take three-phase power if the panel has it, since a three-phase motor starts easier and runs cooler on a compressor that cycles all day. On single-phase, give it a dedicated circuit sized to the motor nameplate and keep the wire run short. Air leaves any piston compressor hot and saturated, so pair it with a refrigerated air dryer ahead of a paint booth, a plasma table, or any tool line you would rather not run water through.
