The ABAC ABC10-2320DHP Ironman duplex puts two independent 10 HP motor and pump assemblies on a single 200 gallon horizontal tank. Each side runs a C2 two-stage cast iron pump rated 32 CFM, for 64 CFM combined at a maximum 175 PSI. The large receiver gives the pair more stored air to draw against, so the pumps cycle less under a swinging load. Because the two assemblies are separate, one can come down for service while the other keeps air on the line, which is the reason most shops step up to a duplex in the first place. Choose 230V three-phase (ABC10-2320DHP) or 460V three-phase (ABC10-4320DHP).

Why a duplex instead of one larger compressor
A duplex splits the same output across two smaller pumps. Under light demand the two sides alternate, so each pump runs roughly half the hours and stays cooler, and ABAC builds alternating control into the Ironman Duplex range specifically to rotate the lead pump and spread wear instead of loading one machine. Under peak draw both sides run together and the full 64 CFM is on tap. If a motor, a pump or a starter fails, the remaining side still makes 32 CFM, which usually keeps a floor working until the part arrives instead of shutting it down. The trade is two sets of service items rather than one: two oil changes, two belt sets, two intake filters.
What the 200 gallon receiver buys you
Tank volume does not change how much air the pumps make. It changes how the machine behaves between draws. A larger receiver holds more compressed air in reserve, so a burst of demand comes out of storage first and line pressure holds while the pumps catch up. The pumps then start less often and run longer when they do start, which is easier on motors, contactors and belts than short cycling. That matters most where the load swings: a blast cabinet, a plasma table, or four or five bays that all reach for air at the same time. The 200 gallon tank is the reason to choose this machine over the otherwise identical 120 gallon version, and the cost is floor space.
How it compares
Within the Ironman duplex range the pumps and the receiver scale separately. The ABC10-2312DHP is the same 20 HP pair at the same 64 CFM on a 120 gallon tank, so it takes less floor space and stores less air between cycles. Below that, the ABC7-2112DH2P delivers 52 CFM from two 7.5 HP C2 pumps and the ABC5-2112DHP delivers 32 CFM from two 5 HP C1 pumps, both on 120 gallon horizontal tanks. Every machine in the range tops out at the same 175 PSI, so size on CFM first and on receiver volume second. If redundancy is not the point and 32 CFM covers the work, a single pump machine such as the ABC10-23120H uses the same C2 pump at a lower installed cost. Above this machine the next step is a rotary screw rated for 100 percent duty rather than a larger piston compressor.
Typical applications
ABAC positions the Ironman Duplex range for extensive use, meaning professional work that needs a consistent supply of compressed air, and names metal and wood workshops and auto body and repair shops as typical settings, along with agriculture and farm, food and beverage and general industrial duty. On the floor that looks like production shops, multi bay service and collision centers, fabrication and welding bays, and fleet maintenance operations running several air tools at once, where a compressor going down stops everything. Alternating control also suits a plant whose demand swings through the day: one pump carries the quiet hours and the second cuts in when every bay is working, instead of a single large machine short cycling through both.
Power and installation
Both versions are three-phase only, so confirm what the panel actually supplies before ordering and size the feeder to the combined nameplate of the two motors rather than to one. Leave working room at both ends of the tank for belt guard access and for the drains, and plan a timed or automatic drain, because a 200 gallon receiver collects a great deal of condensate and a manual drain that nobody pulls is how tanks rust from the inside. Keep the room ventilated: two pumps at full load put real heat into a space, and intake air that is hot or dusty shortens the life of both sides at once.
Air treatment
A two-stage piston compressor this size puts a lot of water into the line. Size the dryer above the compressor output: at 64 CFM the ABAC COOL 100 refrigerated dryer, rated 100 CFM, leaves headroom for a hot day and a long duty cycle. Put the dryer downstream of the receiver so the tank drops out the easy water first, and add a filter regulator ahead of anything that sprays, meters or holds a tolerance. Part of ABAC's Ironman cast iron range from the Atlas Copco group. A duplex pair delivers the output of a larger single machine while spreading run time across two pumps, which keeps each one cooler and shortens recovery under heavy demand.
