Typical applications

How the COOL range works

ABAC builds the COOL range around a combined air to air and air to refrigerant heat exchanger with an integrated water separator, a capillary tube and refrigerant filter ahead of the evaporator, and a hot gas bypass valve that holds refrigeration capacity steady as demand rises and falls so the evaporator cannot freeze at light load. A timer drain clears the condensate on its own, and the front panel dew point indicator shows a green target zone so an operator can read air quality at a glance without a gauge or a meter.

Sizing and installation

Size the dryer to the compressor it follows, not to the pipe it bolts into. At 100 CFM the COOL 100 covers a 20 HP rotary screw air compressor such as the AS-20 rated 60.6 CFM at 125 PSI with room to spare, suits a 25 HP screw at 150 PSI, and comfortably handles the largest two stage reciprocating machines including the 20 HP Ironman duplex units at 64 CFM. Step down to the COOL 75 if 115V power is all that is available at the install point, and step up to the COOL 125 when the shop grows past 100 CFM of real demand.

Those capacity ratings hold at ABAC's reference conditions, so a hot room or hot incoming air will cut them: allow for it, or fit an aftercooler ahead of the dryer if it sits close to the compressor discharge.
