The ABAC ABC10 vertical is the 10 HP Ironman on a 120 gallon ASME vertical tank, driving the C2 two-stage cast iron pump to 32 CFM at a maximum 175 PSI. The vertical layout puts that storage into a 30 by 41 inch floor footprint, which is what most shops want when wall and bay space is already committed and there is ceiling height to spare. This is a three-phase machine only. Choose 230V three-phase (ABC10-23120V), 460V three-phase (ABC10-43120V), or 575V three-phase (ABC10-53120V).

How it compares

The horizontal ABC10 is the same 10 HP motor, the same C2 pump and the same 32 CFM at 175 PSI, laid out at 27 x 74 x 50 in and 728 lbs. Pick the horizontal when ceiling clearance is the constraint and the vertical when floor space is. Below the ABC10, the 7.5 HP ABC7-2180V2 delivers 24 CFM on an 80 gallon vertical tank. Air treatment for a 32 CFM line

A two-stage piston compressor sends hot, saturated air into the receiver, and the 120 gallon tank does part of the work by giving that air time to cool and drop its condensate before it reaches the line. The rest is downstream. Size a dryer at or above the compressor's rated output, which for this machine means 32 CFM or better: the ABAC COOL 35 refrigerated dryer is rated 35 CFM and is the closest match in the COOL range. Add a filter regulator at each drop. This matters most for plasma cutting, paint and pneumatic instruments, where carried over moisture shows up as torch tip wear, fisheye in the finish, or drifting controls.
