Service Interval
Replace annually, or whenever the differential pressure indicator shows a 5 PSID rise above clean, whichever comes first. A coalescing element that is run past its interval does not simply stop improving the air; a saturated coalescer re-entrains the oil it has already captured and pushes it downstream, which is worse than no filter at all on a process that is specified for .0008 ppm. On critical air, annual replacement is the minimum discipline regardless of what the gauge reads.

How is a Grade F element different from a Grade E?
Same housing, finer media. Grade E delivers .008 ppm residual oil and Grade F delivers .0008 ppm. Grade F costs more per element and carries slightly higher pressure drop, which is the trade you make for an order of magnitude less oil.
Why did my element load up in two months?
Nearly always inadequate prefiltration. A fine coalescing element installed on raw wet air will plug fast. Put a separator and a coarser filter upstream and the Grade F will run a full year.
Can I clean and reuse a coalescing element?
No. Coalescing media works by depth capture. Washing or blowing it out destroys the fiber matrix.
Do I need to depressurize before changing an element?
Always. Isolate the filter, bleed it to zero pressure, and confirm at the drain before opening the bowl.
