Which Element Do I Need?
Match the element to the flow number in your housing part number, not to your compressor size. A CFL250BG housing takes a CF250BE element regardless of which drain, indicator, or connection options were specified at order entry. The trailing letters on a CFL part number describe drain and indicator choices; they never change which element goes inside.

Replace the element annually, or whenever the differential pressure indicator on the housing shows a 5 PSID rise above clean, whichever comes first. Pressure drop across a compressed-air filter is a direct energy cost at roughly 1% of compressor horsepower per PSID, so a neglected element is not a saving. It is also a rupture risk: a fully loaded element eventually collapses and dumps everything it has collected into the plant header.

Read the housing part number off the label. A CFL375BG housing takes CF375BE. If the label is gone, measure the housing height and call us; the sizes are distinctive.
Can I upgrade to a finer element in the same housing?
The CFL housings share a body casting across grades, but elements are matched to the grade the housing was built as, including its flow direction and drain arrangement. Do not substitute grades without checking with us first.
Should I change the element on a schedule or on differential pressure?
Whichever comes first. Annual replacement is the backstop, because filter media degrades with age even on light duty. The differential pressure indicator catches the heavy-duty case where the element loads up well before the year is out.
Do I need to depressurize before changing an element?
Always. Isolate the filter, bleed it to zero pressure, and confirm at the drain before opening the bowl.
