The ABAC COOL 25 is a refrigerated air dryer that strips moisture out of compressed air before it reaches your tools, lines, and finishing work. It is rated at 25 CFM (600 l/min, 36 m3/h), runs on standard 115V 60 Hz shop power so it plugs in next to a single-phase compressor without new wiring, and holds a maximum working pressure of 232 PSI, which covers every reciprocating and rotary screw compressor in the ABAC range. COOL 25 is the second size in the ABAC COOL dryer family, carried as code C1 in the COOL 15-100 UL manual, and it shares the 42 lb cabinet and 1/2 in NPT connections of the COOL 15 while treating 10 CFM more air on the same 159 W draw.

Typical applications
Paint and body shops, cabinet and woodworking shops, small production cells, laser and plasma tables, pneumatic control systems, packaging lines, tire inflation and injection molding: anywhere water in the air line is blowing out finishes, rusting tools and fittings, or freezing an outdoor drop in winter. A refrigerated dryer chills the air so the water condenses, drains it away, and sends dry air down the line, which is the most straightforward way to stop moisture damage downstream of a compressor.
How the COOL range works
ABAC builds the COOL range around a combined air to air and air to refrigerant heat exchanger with an integrated water separator, a hot gas bypass valve that injects hot gas from the refrigerant compressor discharge into the suction and liquid separator to hold refrigeration capacity steady across load conditions and keep the evaporator from freezing, a capillary tube and refrigerant filter on the cooling circuit, a refrigerant compressor protected against thermal overload, an air cooled condenser with a large exchange surface, a timer drain that clears condensate on its own, and a front panel dew point indicator with a green target zone so you can read air quality at a glance. ABAC rates the COOL range for a 45 F (7 C) pressure dew point, which it notes covers more than 95 percent of industrial compressed air applications. The simple vertical layout keeps the footprint small and leaves the serviceable parts reachable from the front.
Sizing and installation
Size the dryer to the compressor it follows, not to the pipe it bolts into. The COOL 25 suits a small shop compressor in the 3 to 5 HP class where 25 CFM of treated air is comfortably ahead of what the machine actually delivers. Drop back to the COOL 15 only on a genuinely small single-tool setup, and step up to the COOL 35 if the COOL 25 would be running at its limit. Undersizing is the usual reason a dryer disappoints, so leave headroom rather than matching the rating exactly.
ABAC quotes its ratings at reference conditions of 100 PSI operating pressure, 95 F incoming air and a 77 F room, and publishes correction factors because real conditions move the number. Capacity drops as the room gets hotter, from a factor of 1.00 at 77 F to 0.80 at 100 F, and drops harder as incoming air gets hotter, from 1.24 at 86 F down to 0.54 at 122 F. Higher line pressure works the other way and recovers a little capacity, reaching a factor of 1.17 at 230 PSI. Keep the room between 41 F and 104 F, keep incoming air below 122 F, and if the dryer has to live near the compressor, fit an aftercooler ahead of it.
At 42 lb the COOL 25 can be set on a bench or a wall shelf rather than claiming floor space, and the 1/2 in NPT inlet and outlet make it a straight tie-in on most small shop piping. The 232 PSI rating means the dryer will not be the weak link behind a 175 PSI two stage reciprocating machine. Pair it with a coalescing filter upstream for oil carryover and a particulate filter downstream when your work calls for cleaner air, and give the condensate somewhere to go. Call us for the COOL 25 flow rating against your own compressor output and duty cycle before you pipe it in.
