The ABAC AS-7.5501TMD is a complete compressed air station in one package. A 7.5 HP rotary screw air end, a 131 gallon air receiver and a refrigerated dryer arrive mounted and plumbed on a single frame, so there is no separate tank or dryer to source, site and pipe. It delivers 27.1 CFM at a 150 PSI maximum and runs at 67 dBA, quiet enough to sit in the work area instead of a separate compressor room. Choose 230V single-phase (AS-7.5501TMD, part 4152044130) or 208-230-460V three-phase (AS-7.5503TMD, part 4152043904).

Why a screw instead of a piston
A piston compressor builds air in bursts and needs time to cool between them. A rotary screw simply runs, which is why shops that use air most of the day move to one. There is no duty cycle to watch, line pressure stays flat through a shift instead of sagging and recovering, and at 67 dBA the machine sits well below a comparable reciprocating unit. The trade is that a screw dislikes short cycling, so it wants a receiver sized to its output and a demand pattern that keeps it loaded rather than starting and stopping all day. On this build the 131 gallon receiver is already matched to the air end, so that sizing decision is made for you.
What the integrated dryer buys you
Air leaving any compressor is warm and saturated. As it cools in the piping that moisture drops out as liquid water, and it ends up in the tool, the finish, the cylinder or the control valve at the far end of the run. A refrigerated dryer chills the air at the compressor so the water condenses and drains there instead of travelling down the line. Buying it integrated rather than as a separate box means one electrical connection, one footprint, no interconnecting pipework to get wrong, and a dryer already matched to this compressor's output rather than guessed at. For paint and finishing work, pneumatic controls, plasma tables and tire service, drying at the source is the difference between a system that works and one that is always being chased with traps and filters.
Why the 150 PSI build
ABAC builds this machine in a 125 PSI and a 150 PSI version off the same 7.5 HP air end, and the two trade flow against pressure. The 125 PSI unit gives 30.5 CFM, this one gives 27.1 CFM but carries a higher ceiling. Buy the 150 PSI build when a tool or a piece of equipment on the floor is rated above a standard 125 PSI supply, when the run from the compressor to the point of use is long enough that pressure drop eats into the working pressure, or when you want headroom to regulate down at the drop and still hold a steady line. If every tool on the floor is happy at 125 PSI, the extra 3.4 CFM of the 125 PSI build is the better buy.
Why the three-in-one build
Buying compressor, receiver and dryer separately means three deliveries, three footprints and interconnecting pipe that has to be sized, supported and leak tested. This build arrives as one unit on one pad. The dryer sits downstream of the receiver, so water drops out before it reaches the distribution piping, and the 131 gallon receiver gives the screw somewhere to put air during demand spikes instead of loading and unloading against a short line. For a shop with one electrical drop and limited floor space, that is the difference between a day of installation and a week of it.
How it compares
The 71 gallon version of this same machine is 593 lbs on a 60 x 23 in footprint, which suits a shop that is short on floor space and draws air steadily rather than in heavy bursts. If air treatment is already installed downstream, the 131 gallon tank mount without the dryer is the same package at 655 lbs. If a receiver and a dryer are both already in place, the AS-7.5501BM base mount is the bare air end at 360 lbs on a 32 x 24 in footprint. Where flow rather than pressure is the constraint, the 125 PSI build on the same receiver gives 30.5 CFM instead of 27.1. And if the shop is already running short of air, the 10 HP AS-10503TMD steps the same tank and dryer package up to 34.1 CFM at the same 150 PSI.
Typical applications
Paint and finishing work, automotive and fleet service bays, tire shops, cabinet and woodworking shops, and small production floors where moisture in the air line causes rejects or tool wear. At 27.1 CFM this unit carries a dual action sander, a couple of impact wrenches, or a spray gun with headroom, run continuously rather than in bursts. Drying the air at the compressor keeps condensate out of the distribution piping instead of leaving it for traps and filters downstream to catch.
Setting it up
Give the cabinet clear air on the cooling side, keep it out of a hot corner, and leave working room at the service panels. The unit measures 76 x 24 x 63 in and weighs 741 lbs, so plan the route in and the pad it sits on before it arrives. Run it on its own circuit sized to the motor nameplate, and confirm which supply you have before ordering, since the single-phase and three-phase builds are different part numbers. Oil, oil filter and separator element are the service items, and the digital controller handles menu driven operation and tracks the maintenance intervals for you. Call us with your own flow and duty cycle and we will check this machine against the demand before you pipe it in.
Part of the ABAC AS-B 5 to 20 HP screw range from the Atlas Copco group, built around a fully integrated aluminum block air end, vertical oil separation technology and an energy efficient motor. A rotary screw is built for continuous running, so it holds a steady line pressure through a full shift instead of recovering between jobs. See the rest of our rotary screw air compressors, the fixed speed screw compressors, or browse refrigerated air dryers if you are adding treatment to a compressor you already own.
CFM measured per ISO 1217 Annex C, quoted at 138 PSI for 150 PSI maximum units. Noise measured per ISO 2151:2004 using ISO 9614/2 (sound intensity method).
