Samuel A10051 200 Gallon Vertical Air Receiver, 200 PSI
The Samuel A10051 is a 200 gallon vertical ASME air receiver rated for 200 PSI, built in the USA and supplied on an 8 inch base ring so it stands on the floor without legs or a separate stand. It is the receiver size most 15 to 25 HP shops end up with: large enough to smooth the pulses from a two stage piston pump, hold a reserve for tools that run in bursts, and give condensate time to drop out before the air reaches the dryer.
Sizing
For a piston compressor, plan on 3 to 4 gallons of storage per CFM, which puts a 200 gallon tank with a 50 to 65 CFM two stage pump in the 15 to 20 HP range. For a rotary screw, 1 to 2 gallons per CFM is the usual rule, so this tank suits screws from roughly 100 to 200 CFM, or a smaller variable speed unit that needs extra storage to stay out of its unload cycle. If you run a blast cabinet, a large sander or any tool that pulls more than the compressor makes for a minute at a time, go up a size rather than down. What to order with it
The tank ships as a bare vessel. Add an ASME safety relief valve and pressure gauge set at or below 200 PSI, a condensate drain on the bottom port (an automatic zero loss drain such as the EZ-12 replaces the daily bleed), a check valve between the compressor and the tank, and a shutoff on the outlet. A vertical tank takes less floor space than a horizontal of the same volume; bolt the base ring to a level pad and leave room to reach the drain.

A 200 gallon receiver ships by LTL freight on a pallet, so arrange a forklift or a liftgate at the delivery end. Call before ordering if you need a specific port layout or a pressure rating other than 200 PSI.
