The ABAC ABC7-2180V is the Ironman build of the 7.5 HP two-stage compressor, where the pump is fully cast iron rather than an aluminum hybrid block. A 7.5 HP motor drives the C1 cast iron pump to 21 CFM at a maximum 175 PSI on an 80 gallon vertical ASME tank. At 24 x 36 x 72 inches the vertical layout holds the full 80 gallon reserve in a small floor footprint, which suits a shop with ceiling height to spare but not much open floor. Choose 230V single-phase (ABC7-2180V), 230V three-phase (ABC7-2380V), 460V three-phase (ABC7-4380V), or 575V three-phase (ABC7-5380V).

Why cast iron, and why two stages

ABAC builds the Ironman range around a fully cast iron pump because the extra mass absorbs heat and damps vibration, which is what lets a compressor hold up under the long run times of a working shop rather than occasional weekend use. Two stages work on the same principle from the other direction: the air is compressed in two steps with cooling in between, so 175 PSI arrives with far less heat than a single-stage pump straining for the same pressure. Cooler air means less moisture carried downstream, less thermal load on valves and rings, and oil that stays in condition longer between changes. The fully enclosed belt guard and the ASME tank with safety valves are standard across the Ironman simplex line.

Sizing and how it compares

Size on CFM, not on horsepower. 21 CFM runs impact wrenches, ratchets, blow guns, grinders and a spray gun with room to spare, and holds pressure when a second tool joins in for a while. Below it, the 5 HP ABC5-2180V delivers 16 CFM on the same 80 gallon tank. On the same 7.5 HP vertical platform the ABC7-2180V2 steps up to the larger C2 pump for 24 CFM, which is the move if a continuous duty tool such as a dual action sander will run most of the day. Power and air quality

Take three-phase power if the panel has it, since a three-phase motor starts easier and runs cooler on a compressor that cycles all day, and the 460V build keeps the wire size down on a long run. On single-phase, give it a dedicated circuit sized to the motor nameplate and keep the wire run short. Air leaves any piston compressor hot and saturated, so pair it with a refrigerated air dryer ahead of a paint booth, a plasma table, or any tool line you would rather not run water through.
