Why the cast iron pump matters

ABAC builds the Ironman range around a fully cast iron pump because the extra mass absorbs heat and damps vibration, and that is what lets a compressor hold up under the long run times of a working shop rather than occasional weekend use. Two-stage compression works on the same principle from the other direction: the air is compressed in two steps with cooling in between, so 175 PSI arrives with far less heat than a single-stage pump straining for the same pressure. Cooler air means less moisture carried downstream, less thermal load on valves and rings, and oil that stays in condition longer between changes.
