The Super-Dry SV is the spring-loaded safety relief valve used on Super-Dry D Series single-tower desiccant air dryers. It is set to relieve at 150 PSI, so the dryer housing is protected if line pressure climbs past the level the unit is built to hold. Order it as a direct replacement for a valve that has started to weep or has been removed during service, or keep one on the shelf as a maintenance spare. Two inlet sizes are offered so you can match the tapping on your dryer.
How it works
The valve threads into the dryer's gauge and valve assembly and stays sealed at normal working pressure. A calibrated spring holds a rubber pad against the seat. When system pressure reaches the 150 PSI set point, the spring load is overcome, the pad lifts and air vents to atmosphere until pressure falls back below the set point and the valve reseats. The body is brass. Depending on the model, the spring is supplied in zinc-plated music wire or in stainless steel, and the sealing pad in silicone or in fluorocarbon rubber.

Note on maximum temperature: the two sizes carry different published temperature limits, 250°F for the SV-1/4 and 200°F for the SV-1/2. Both figures are as published by Super-Dry, so rate each size to its own limit.
