The ORD is the replacement O-ring for a Super-Dry D Series single-tower desiccant dryer housing. It is a small part with an outsized job, since it is the seal at the joint the stainless steel clamp closes after a cartridge change. Two versions cover the range: ORD1 for the D1, and ORD4 for the D2, D3 and D4.
How it works
Servicing a D Series dryer means opening the housing at the clamped joint, lifting out the cartridge with its coalescer element, felt pads, stainless steel grids and sewed desiccant bag, and closing the housing back up. The O-ring sits in that joint and is what makes the reassembled housing hold pressure. Super-Dry supplies an O-ring in the BD replacement bag kit, so order the ORD on its own when you want a spare, when you are refilling a bag rather than buying a kit, or when the existing seal is nicked, flattened or hardened.
