Super-Dry reducing bushings let you connect a large port on a dryer, water separator or filter housing to a smaller line, or the other way around. Each bushing has a male pipe (NPT) thread on the large end and a female pipe (NPT) thread on the small end, all in galvanized steel with a straight body. Six size combinations cover the 1", 1-1/2", 2" and 3" ports used across the Super-Dry range. This is the fitting to reach for when the equipment port and the shop piping do not share a size.
How it works
- The male end threads into a female NPT port on the equipment or on a tee, union or valve.
- The female end accepts the smaller male NPT pipe, nipple or hose fitting, so one part does the entire size change.
- Because the reduction happens inside a single short body, the bushing adds far less length than a bell reducer plus nipples.
- Every size is galvanized steel with a straight shape, and can be tightened with a standard pipe or hex wrench.

Which size do I need
- 1" x 1/2" and 1" x 3/4": adapt a 1" NPT port, such as the D1 desiccant dryer or the 185 SCFM FSD separator and SAF filter housing, down to 1/2" or 3/4" piping.
- 1-1/2" x 1": adapt a 1-1/2" NPT port, such as the D2 dryer or the 375 SCFM FSD separator and SAF filter housing, down to 1" piping.
- 2" x 1-1/2": adapt a 2" NPT port, such as the D3 dryer or the 515 SCFM FSD separator and SAF filter housing, down to 1-1/2" piping.
- 3" x 1-1/2" and 3" x 2": adapt the 3" NPT ports on the D4 desiccant dryer down to 1-1/2" or 2" piping, which also brings the port into the size range covered by Super-Dry unions and close nipples.
Typical applications
- Landing a large D Series dryer onto smaller existing shop piping
- Stepping an FSD water separator or SAF filter housing port down to a regulator or drop line
- Adapting a 3" dryer port to 2" so a standard union or close nipple can be used
- Fitting point-of-use equipment on paint booth and sandblasting lines
- Reworking a compressed air treatment train after adding or removing a component
- Keeping common reducers on the shelf for shop maintenance
Super-Dry reducing bushings keep an installation compact when the D Series, FSD or SAF port does not match the pipe you already have in the wall. Pick the male size to suit the equipment port and the female size to suit your line.
