Super-Dry FSD-FD Automatic Float Drain for FSD Water Separators and SAF Air Filters

The FSD-FD is the automatic float drain fitted to Super-Dry FSD Series water separators and SAF Series compressed air filters. Those housings ship with a float drain built in, and this is the replacement when the original sticks open, sticks closed or has been fouled by scale and pipe debris. It is a direct service part, so no change to the bowl or the plumbing is needed.

How it works

Liquid knocked out of the air stream collects in the bottom of the separator or filter bowl. As the level rises, the float rises with it and opens the drain port, condensate is pushed out by line pressure, and the float drops back and closes the port once the bowl is clear. The drain runs on its own with no timer, no power supply and no operator attention, which is why a stuck float usually shows up as either a constant air leak or as water carrying over downstream.
