The COD is the polypropylene coalescer element used in Super-Dry D Series single-tower desiccant dryers. It does two jobs in one part: it captures oil carryover and solid particulates before they reach the desiccant, and it acts as the final barrier that keeps desiccant dust out of your air line. Order by dryer model, with a single element covering both the D2 and the D3.
How it works
- Air entering the offset inlet is separated by centrifugal action, then passes the coalescer element, felt pads and stainless steel grids that hold back solid particulates.
- Polypropylene media gives good particle retention and chemical resistance in compressed air service.
- Stopping oil and particulates upstream keeps the desiccant bed clean, which stretches the interval between cartridge changes.
- On the outlet side the element forms the second stage of filtration that removes desiccant dust before the air reaches downstream equipment.
