The Super-Dry ATD Series is an inline compressed air dryer that mounts at the point of use, directly ahead of the tool or instrument that needs dry air. It strips water and moisture out of the air stream so impact wrenches, grinders, sanders, drills, spray guns and pneumatic instruments run on clean, dry air instead of corroding from the inside out. In cold weather it also keeps nail guns from freezing up. All four models run at very low pressure drop and suit intermittent duty, which is where a compact inline dryer earns its place.
How it works
- Compressed air passes through a desiccant media that absorbs water vapor before the air reaches the connected tool or instrument.
- On the ATD 1/4, ATD 1/2 and ATD 1/2-CL, the cartridge is activated alumina in a sewed bag. On the ATD 1/4 XL, it is silica gel in blue pellet form held in a plastic tube.
- The ATD 1/4 XL adds a built-in sight glass so you can see when the desiccant is saturated, and it ships with a fixing clip for mounting.
- Cartridge changes are quick: no tools are required and there is no loose desiccant to handle. The ATD 1/2-CL uses cam-lock caps to make the swap even faster.
- Removing moisture at the drop helps prevent rust and internal corrosion, cuts water contamination in the pneumatic system, keeps tools working at rated performance and extends service life.
