Powerex OPT050 Two-Stage Oil-Less Air Compressor Pump, 5 HP, 145 PSI
The Powerex OPT050 is the bare two-stage pump from Powerex 5 HP oil-less reciprocating packages. Air is compressed in the large low-pressure cylinder, cooled through an air-cooled intercooler, then finished in the small high-pressure cylinder. Two-stage compression is what lets an oil-free pump reach 145 PSIG without the discharge temperatures that destroy dry piston rings, and it does it on less horsepower per CFM than a single-stage pump would need.

Service notes
No crankcase and no oil changes. Piston rings are the scheduled wear item at roughly 10,000 operating hours. Keep the intercooler fins, flywheel and cooling fan clean, because the intercooler is doing real work on a two-stage oil-free pump and a fouled one pushes second-stage temperatures up and ring life down.
