This is an equivalent coalescing element built to replace the Pioneer Air Systems A7-00020-40035 in the filter housings that take that element.
A coalescing element gathers the fine oil aerosol and water mist that slips through a particulate filter, merging those droplets until they are heavy enough to drop out and drain away. Pioneer Air Systems builds compressed air dryers and filtration equipment, and its housings are matched by original part number rather than by a shared size, so order against the number printed on the element you are replacing.
Coalescing media is changed on a time basis rather than by watching a differential pressure gauge climb, because a coalescer loads with the liquid it removes long before it plugs with solids.
