A replacement coalescing element made to interchange with the Pioneer Air Systems element listed as A7-00010-40085. Fitment matches the original, so a change-out is the usual open, swap and reseal on the existing housing.
Coalescing media works differently from a particulate filter. Instead of screening out solids, it captures the fine oil and water aerosol carried in the air stream, merges those droplets into larger ones, and lets gravity drain them away. That is the stage that protects downstream piping, pneumatic tools, valves and instrumentation from liquid oil carryover.
