An equivalent 3 micron interceptor element made to replace the Pioneer Air Systems part numbered A7-00010-40073. It keeps the original fitment, so it drops into the housing already on the line without adapters or modification.
An interceptor at this rating is a particulate stage. The media captures the solid debris a compressed air system carries along: rust and scale shed from steel pipe, carbon and desiccant fines from upstream treatment, and dirt drawn in at the intake. Catching that material early protects the finer filtration behind it and keeps grit out of valves, cylinders and air tools at the point of use.
Particulate media loads up rather than wears out, so plan on replacing the element on a set schedule or once pressure drop across the housing begins to climb. Cleaning and reusing it is not worth the risk to the equipment downstream. Other ratings sit alongside this one in particulate removal filters, and the full range is under compressed air filters.
