Pioneer Air Systems 3 Micron Interceptor A7-00010-40072
This replacement 3 micron interceptor element is built to interchange with the Pioneer Air Systems element carrying part number A7-00010-40072. It uses the original fitment and goes into the existing housing with no modification.
At a 3 micron rating this is a particulate stage rather than a coalescing one. Its job is to take out the solids a compressed air system produces and collects: rust and scale off the inside of steel pipe, carryover fines from a desiccant bed, and dirt that entered anywhere upstream. Placed ahead of finer filtration it extends the life of the element behind it, and placed near the point of use it keeps grit out of valves, cylinders and tools.
Treat it as a scheduled consumable. Replace the element rather than trying to clean it, and change it on the same service rotation as the rest of the filter train. Other ratings are listed under particulate removal filters, and the complete lineup is under air filters.
