Pioneer Air Systems 3 Micron Interceptor EPS550
This equivalent 3 micron interceptor element replaces the Pioneer Air Systems EPS550. It matches the original fitment and seats in the housing already in service.
An interceptor at this rating is a solids stage. Compressed air lines accumulate rust and mill scale from steel pipe, fines that migrate out of a desiccant bed, leftover install debris and dirt drawn in at the intake, and this element is what keeps that material from travelling any further. Ahead of finer filtration it protects the element behind it from bulk loading, and near the point of use it protects valves, cylinders, instruments and air tools.
Replace the element on a maintenance rotation rather than trying to clean it, and watch pressure drop across the housing as a secondary signal. Related ratings are listed under particulate removal filters, with the full lineup under compressed air filters.
