Pioneer Air Systems 3 Micron Interceptor EPP130/170
A replacement 3 micron interceptor element built to interchange with the Pioneer Air Systems EPP130/170. It follows the original fitment, so the existing housing and hardware stay as they are.
This is a solids removal stage. Compressed air picks up rust, pipe scale, desiccant dust and assorted debris on its way through a system, and a micron rated interceptor is what keeps that material from reaching the equipment at the end of the line. Run ahead of finer filtration it takes the bulk loading, which is what lets a coalescing element reach its intended service life instead of blinding off in a few weeks.
Change the element on a maintenance schedule, or sooner if pressure drop across the housing starts climbing. It is a consumable and is not worth cleaning. Related ratings are grouped under particulate removal filters, and the full category is compressed air filters.
