The PIC Gauges 201L is a 4" liquid-filled industrial pressure gauge built for hard-working air and fluid systems. The case is filled with glycerin to dampen vibration and pressure pulsation, keeping the pointer steady and readable while extending service life on compressors, pumps, and hydraulic equipment. A stainless steel case and bezel with brass internals stand up to demanding shop and field conditions.
Which range should you choose?
This gauge comes in three types of ranges. Pick the one that matches what your system actually does:
- Pressure (for example, 0–150 PSI): Reads positive pressure only — anything above normal atmospheric pressure. This is what almost every air-compressor and shop-air job needs. For the most accurate reading, pick a range where your normal working pressure sits around the middle of the dial.
- Compound (for example, 30 inHg vacuum to 100 PSI): Reads both vacuum and positive pressure on the same dial. Choose compound if your system sometimes pulls a vacuum (suction) and sometimes builds pressure — common on pump inlets and any line that can drop below atmospheric.
- Vacuum only (0 to 30 inHg): Reads suction / negative pressure only, with no positive-pressure scale.
What does "inHg" mean? It stands for inches of mercury — the standard unit gauges use to measure vacuum, meaning pressure below normal atmospheric pressure (in other words, suction). 0 inHg is ordinary atmospheric pressure, and about 30 inHg is a near-complete vacuum — roughly 14.7 PSI of suction. So a gauge marked "30 inHg" reads the entire vacuum range, from no suction down to full vacuum. (By comparison, PSI measures pressure above atmospheric.)
