Parker Watts PS802P Replacement Filter Element for 07E Series Filter Regulators
The Watts PS802P is the replacement filter element for the Parker Watts 07E series filter regulator. It is the service part, not the whole unit.
What it fits
- S1170: Parker Watts 07E34B18AC filter regulator, 1/2 in NPT
- S1171: Parker Watts 07E44B18AC filter regulator, 3/4 in NPT
When to change it
A filter element does not announce itself. It does not blow, leak or make a noise; it slowly chokes, and what you notice is that the tool at the end of the line has gone soft and the regulator is turned up further than it used to be. If you have a gauge either side of the unit, change the element when the pressure drop across it climbs noticeably. If you do not, change it on a schedule and write the date on the bowl with a marker.
A compressor that carries over oil or water, or a shop with a lot of airborne dust, will eat elements faster than a clean installation. That is worth fixing upstream rather than solving with elements.
Changing it
Blow the line down first and confirm the gauge reads zero before you touch the bowl. Catch what is in the bowl rather than wearing it. Clean the bowl out while it is off, check the bowl seal and seat the new element properly before you thread the bowl back on; a cocked element lets air bypass it and the unit is then filtering nothing at all.
