Parker Watts L606 Air Line Lubricator, 1/4 in to 1-1/2 in, Zinc Bowl
The Parker Watts L606 is an oil fog lubricator for air lines feeding tools and air operated equipment. It meters a controlled amount of oil into the air stream so vanes, pistons and bearings in the tool stay lubricated. Air tools that run dry wear out fast and lose power long before they stop working, and a lubricator is the cheapest thing in the line that prevents it.
All six sizes use a zinc bowl, which is the right choice for shop and industrial service where a polycarbonate bowl is a liability.

Sizing it
Size on the CFM the line actually carries, not on the thread. An undersized lubricator restricts the line and starves the tool, and an oversized one will not generate enough pressure drop across the venturi to pull oil reliably at low flow, so the tool gets nothing. The three small sizes share a 2.6 oz bowl and suit a single tool or a short drop; the three large ones take a 16 oz bowl and are for a main line or a bank of tools.
Where it goes in the line
Last. Filter first, then regulator, then lubricator, and keep the lubricator as close to the tool as the layout allows. Oil put into a long run of pipe mostly ends up on the inside of the pipe rather than in the tool. Never put a lubricator upstream of a dryer, an instrument line, a blast pot or anything feeding a paint gun, because the oil goes exactly where it should not.
Setting and filling
Use a proper air tool oil, not compressor oil and not motor oil. Set the drip rate with the tool running and work by drops per minute, then leave it alone; cranking the needle wide open does not help the tool and does put oil on the floor and through the exhaust. Blow the line down before unscrewing the bowl to fill it.
