Parker Prep-Air II Compact Filter Element Kit, PS701P 40 Micron and PS724P Grade 6 Coalescing
Genuine Parker service element kits for the Prep-Air II compact filter range, 1/4 in. through 1/2 in. ports. Both kits ship with the element and its O-ring. In the older Watts numbering these are the F602 compact particulate and F701 compact coalescing elements.
PS701P, 40 micron particulate
- Rating: 40 micron
- Media: Sintered polyethylene, white
- Removes: Particulate and bulk water
- Fits: 06F compact particulate filters and 06E compact filter/regulators, 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. ports. Watts equivalent: F602 compact, new style units
- Operating range: 0 to 250 PSIG, 32 to 175 degrees F
- Standard size sibling: PS801P covers the 07F and 07E bodies in 1/2 in. and 3/4 in.
PS724P, Grade 6 coalescing
- Rating: Grade 6, 0.01 micron largest aerosol passed, 99.97 percent DOP efficiency
- Media: Borosilicate and felt glass fibers
- Removes: Oil aerosol and submicron particulate
- Fits: 11F compact coalescing filters, 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. ports. Watts equivalent: F701 compact
- Standard size sibling: PS824P covers the 12F standard body in 3/4 in.
Important: these are not interchangeable
A 06F particulate body takes only PS701P. An 11F coalescing body takes only PS724P. Check the model number stamped on your filter before ordering. The two elements look different in the hand as well: the particulate element is a solid white sintered tube, the coalescing element is a soft fibrous cartridge.
Applications
The standard Parker layout runs a 06F particulate filter upstream of an 11F coalescing filter, so most shops that stock one of these elements need the other too. Together they protect air logic, instrumentation, spray finishing, packaging machinery and any point-of-use device where oil carryover ruins the result. Coalescing elements do not clean up: once the glass fiber media is loaded, differential pressure climbs and the only fix is a new element. Parker recommends changing Grade 6 elements on a schedule rather than waiting for a visible problem.
