Packard Titan Pro 370 Round Motor Run Capacitor, 370 VAC
Packard Titan Pro 370 round motor run capacitors, the continuous-duty capacitor that stays in circuit the whole time a single-phase PSC or capacitor-start capacitor-run motor is running. Unlike a start capacitor, which drops out a second or two after the motor breaks away, the run capacitor works permanently in series with the auxiliary winding, improving power factor, running torque and efficiency.
A tired run capacitor shows up as a motor that starts but runs hot, pulls high amps, or struggles under load. These are oil-filled metallized polypropylene film capacitors in an aluminium can, built for 60,000 hours of service.

Ratings and case diameter
- 20 MFD (TRC20): 1.97 in. diameter
- 25 MFD (TRC25): 1.97 in.
- 30 MFD (TRC30): 1.97 in.
- 40 MFD (TRC40): 1.97 in.
- 50 MFD (TRC50): 1.97 in.
- 60 MFD (TRC60): 2.5 in.
Case heights are given inconsistently across published sources for this line, so we have quoted diameter only rather than publish a figure we cannot stand behind. If vertical clearance in your enclosure is tight, ask us and we will measure a unit from stock before shipping.
About the 370 V and 440 V versions
Packard is moving this line from the 370 VAC only TRC series to the dual-rated 440/370 VAC TRCF series. The dual-rated part is an upward substitution and drops straight into a 370 V position, so if your preferred TRC rating is unavailable, the matching TRCF is a valid replacement. The reverse is not true: never fit a 370 V capacitor where 440 V is specified.
Run capacitor or start capacitor?
A run capacitor carries a single MFD value with a tight tolerance because it is energised continuously. A start capacitor carries a MFD range and is rated for intermittent duty only. They are not interchangeable in either direction. Fitting the wrong one will destroy the capacitor and can damage the motor winding. Match the MFD value and the voltage rating on the old capacitor; a higher voltage rating is acceptable, a lower one never is.
Safety
A capacitor stores charge after the power is removed. Isolate the equipment, wait, and discharge the capacitor across a resistor before touching the terminals. Replace any capacitor that is bulged, leaking oil or showing a lifted top.
