This overload protector is a genuine Chicago Pneumatic replacement part that guards the refrigeration compressor in a refrigerated air dryer against overheating and excess current. If the motor draws too much current or runs too hot, the protector opens the circuit and stops the compressor before damage can occur, then resets once conditions return to normal.
A tripped or failed overload protector is a frequent cause of a refrigeration compressor that starts and stops or will not run. Installing the correct protector restores safe, automatic protection.
