This Chicago Pneumatic overload protector shields a compressor motor from the two things that shorten its life the most: excessive current and excessive heat. When either climbs past a safe limit, the protector breaks the circuit to stop the motor, and it closes again automatically after the motor cools.
If a motor cycles on and off on its own or refuses to start, a worn overload protector is a common culprit. Fitting the correct replacement returns reliable, self-resetting protection.
