O-ring V75-253 is the sealing ring for the minimum pressure valve on Ingersoll Rand 450 HP rotary screw air compressors. It seals the valve body against its mating surface so the MPV can hold separator tank backpressure without leaking past the joint.
Because the MPV o-ring sits in a hot, oil-wetted, pressure-cycled location, it hardens and takes a set over time. Any time the minimum pressure valve is opened for inspection or rebuild, the o-ring should be replaced rather than reused, since a weeping seal at this point shows up as oil carryover or a tank that will not hold pressure.
