When an outlet check valve leaks, dry air bleeds backward and escapes through the purge exhaust. The dryer keeps running and throws no fault, but purge consumption climbs and dew point suffers. If your air loss has crept up without an obvious leak, the outlet checks are worth inspecting before you replace desiccant.
