Motor Guard M-723 Replacement Filter Element, 4 Pack, for M-30 and M-60
Replacement cellulose elements for Motor Guard sub micronic compressed air filters, four to a pack. These are the consumable part of the filter, and the filter only works as well as the element in it.

- S1136: Motor Guard M-60, 1/2 in FPT
The same element fits both housings. Reference number M-723, supplied as a pack of four.
When to change it
When flow through the filter falls off. On a paint gun that shows up as a drop in pressure at the gun that was not there last week; on a plasma torch it shows up as a cut that has gone ragged. A saturated element will also start passing what it was holding, which is the worse failure because the first sign of it is in the finish.
How long one lasts depends almost entirely on what the air arrives like. Dry, filtered air on a line with a dryer upstream will stretch an element a long way. Wet oily air straight off a hot pump will soak one in days.
Changing it
Bleed the line down and confirm there is no pressure before you open the housing. Take the old element out, wipe the housing clean rather than blowing it out with the same dirty air, and seat the new element squarely. An element that is not sitting straight lets air slide past the edge, and the filter is then doing nothing at all while looking perfectly normal.
