This medium speed variant runs in the 800–3,000 RPM range at peak output — engineered for mixing, packaging, and moderate-torque process drives. Stall torque scales to 544 Nm at the low-speed end of the LZB42 range, giving the motor massive starting force even under full load.

The LZB42 series uses Atlas Copco's proven five-vane motor cell with zero-clearance design, maximising power-to-weight efficiency in a compact aluminium housing. Speed is infinitely variable by adjusting inlet pressure or flow — down to 50% of free speed — without mechanical governors or electronic drives. The linear torque-speed curve makes control predictable and repeatable across the full working range.
